Rosetta Cucchi

Rosetta Cucchi is a renowned Italian opera director and pianist, celebrated for her inventive productions and international career. Graduated from the Rossini Conservatoire in Pesaro and the DAMS University in Bologna, a laureate of numerous piano competitions. As a pianist, Rosetta has performed with distinguished singers such as Mariella Devia and Sonia Ganassi on the stages of La Scala in Milan, Teatro Real in Madrid, the Japan Opera Foundation in Tokyo, and others.

She made her directorial debut at Teatro Bellini in Catania and Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, and soon gained recognition at the Wexford Festival Opera and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Her productions, covering a wide repertoire from Rossini and Verdi to Sondheim, have been staged at leading theaters across Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Peru, and the United States. Rosetta is acclaimed for her creativity, clarity of vision, and profound musicality. She continues to collaborate with world’s foremost opera houses, including Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Boston Lyric Opera, and many others.
